How do disciplinary ‘frames’ shape the way we see, engage with, and contest subjects within Irish Studies? What is to be gained when we transcend the perspectives of our field(s)?
‘Frames’ are often used as a means to define how we are provided with a certain reading or depiction of reality, which is often a hindrance to seeing fully or clearly.
And yet, frames can be broken, stretched, and otherwise transcended, often dynamically.
The struggle of Irish Studies to reach beyond its perimeters in pursuit of innovation through inter- and multi-disciplinarity and in single fields, is the focus of this conference. We seek to highlight the ways in which a new generation of scholars is using their research to negotiate, contest, and create new potential.
